RAD PDF 2.28 Released

Red Software is excited to release version 2.28 of the ASP.NET PDF editor and viewer, RAD PDF. This update includes basic support for PDF form field submit buttons, simplified object duplication, and other improvements.

In the RAD PDF GUI, users can now click form field reset and submit buttons. When clicked, PdfButtonFields detected to be submit buttons (IsSubmit is true) will save the loaded document along with its field data, passing a special save type to your ASP.NET web application for processing. Additionally, buttons with a reset form action are now detected and will reset a form to its default values when clicked.

The PdfWebControl's object right click dialog now includes a "Duplicate" option allowing users to easily create identical form fields or other objects.

This update also includes several logging improvements and bug fixes.

This version is available free of charge to all Red Software customers with an active RAD PDF Maintenance Plan.

RAD PDF 2.27 Released

Red Software is proud to announce version 2.27 of RAD PDF, the ASP.NET PDF form filler, PDF editor, and PDF reader. This update focuses on PDF form filling improvements, particularly the use of non-ASCII characters. Now, with the optional use of CMap resources, RAD PDF can more accurately output form field values even when the specific font isn't fully available (which is often the case when CJK characters are used).

Along with these new Unicode features, this release includes some hashing performance improvements and other optimizations.

This release also includes several bug fixes.

This version is available free of charge to all Red Software customers with an active Maintenance Plan.

RAD PDF 2.23 Released

Red Software is excited to announce version 2.23 of RAD PDF, the PDF editor, PDF form filler, and PDF reader for ASP.NET. This release improves RenderOnDemand performance and adds visual improvements for browsers with blend mode support (e.g. Chrome Canary*, Firefox Nightly*)

Version 2.23 also updates how PDF form field names containing periods are handled. In previous versions, RAD PDF did not accept periods in the name provided. RAD PDF now automatically creates the necessary non-terminal fields to accommodate such naming.

We've also added a new CustomData property to the PdfDocument class. This new property allows PDF output to be tagged with custom data which can then again be accessed when a PDF is again loaded into RAD PDF, allowing RAD PDF to support an even wider range of work flows.

This release also includes several minor bug fixes.

This version is available free of charge to all Red Software customers with an active Maintenance Plan.

*These are experimental browser builds and may require additional configuration to enable blend modes. It is our hope though that CSS blend mode support becomes a widely implemented standard, which RAD PDF will be ready for.

RAD PDF 2.10 Released

Red Software is proud to announce the release of version 2.10 of RAD PDF, the ASP.NET PDF viewer & PDF editor. This latest version includes a number of improvements for viewing and filling form fields as well as several minor bug fixes.

While seemingly minor improvements, these improvements make the transition from Adobe Reader to RAD PDF smoother than ever for form applications. In this version, DoNotScroll and field formatting improvements help ensure that forms are completed correctly. Support for form field orientation helps rotated page information appear correctly. Client API additions for button and signature fields allow custom code to provide legacy support to your PDF buttons and signatures.

This new version is provided free of charge to customers with an active Maintenance Plan.
