RAD PDF 5.4 Released

Red Software is proud to announce RAD PDF 5.4, the newest release of its ASP.NET WebControl, a drop-in component for PDF reading, PDF form filling, PDF editing, PDF redaction, PDF signing, PDF content protection, and more. Compatible with the .NET Framework 3.5+ and ASP.NET 10, RAD PDF continues to have wider platform and browser support than any other web-based PDF editor.

Tested with the latest ASP.NET 11 preview, RAD PDF is ready for the future of .NET.

Version 5.4 includes improvements for selecting, copying, and pasting text on mobile devices. Serrver side, RAD PDF now supports Linux on ARM (32-bit and 64-bit). TrueType Collections are now accepted as valid font files, matching the behavior of other PDF tools.

Additionally, this build includes a number of bug fixes, including rendering improvements.

This update is available free of charge to all customers with an active Maintenance Plan or Subscription.

Today, Red Software publishes RAD PDF, the ASP.NET (3.5 / 4.x / Core / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10) web component & GUI for PDF editing, PDF form filling, PDF redacting, PDF signing, and viewing PDF files in any web browser. Compatible with the .NET Framework 3.5+ and ready for ASP.NET 10, RAD PDF continues to have wider platform and browser support than any other web-based PDF editor!

This release includes improvements to RAD PDF's view menu as well as its responsive design in general. The new HideViewShortcuts property allows for further customization of the built in user interface.

Dedicated Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons have been added to the GUI, along with important bug fixes which primarily improve RAD PDF's ability to load damaged PDF files.

This new build includes a new side-by-side page view, allowing two pages to be shown at a time or two columns of pages shown in a continuous scroll. It also adds some other minor interface improvements and a new delete page icon which better matches the tab's style.

This version fixes several minor issues, including one causing icon shadows when using browser zoom, Additionally, it improves client side rendering on high resolution devices.

RAD PDF 5.1 Released

Today, Red Software updates RAD PDF, a ASP.NET web component & GUI for editing, form filling, redacting, signing, and viewing PDF files on almost ANY device. RAD PDF supports everything from the latest versions of Chrome and mobile Safari to even Internet Explorer 6! RAD PDF runs on the .NET Framework (3.5 / 4.x) as well as .NET Core, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, and 10 using Blazor, Razor, MVC, WebForms, and more. Our nuget can be installed on Windows or Linux machines.

This version includes form field calculation improvements, GUI improvements, and more annotation information. Simple PDF form field calculations can now be run server side, allowing for server side changes to be propagated. The object focus outline is now larger, and customizable via CSS. Also, annotation modification dates are viewable in the object properties dialog and as a tooltip in the comments side panel. Additionally, popup annotation connection lines are more intellegent, and now snap to the best corner.

This release fixes a number of minor bugs.

Compatible with the .NET Framework 3.5+ and ready for ASP.NET 10, RAD PDF continues to have wider platform and browser support than any other web-based PDF editor.

New Comments Side PanelThis update includes a new comments side panel, allowing for all markup annotations on a page to easily be viewed and navigated. Additionally, the document information dialog now displays Creator and Producer information. The object properties dialog now allows annotation opacity to be set. Popup annotation sizing is now better handled when loading annotated PDF files.

New bookmarks can now set their page and view settings directly. Touch devices can now move and delete pre-existing bookmarks, just like previous versions allowed on a desktop device.

This release fixes a number of bugs, including an iOS selection bug.
