Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 9:00AM Today, Red Software releases RAD PDF 5.5, the newest version of the ASP.NET web component & GUI for editing PDF files, filling PDF forms, redacting PDF content, signing PDF documents, and more on almost ANY device. RAD PDF supports everything from the latest versions of Chrome and mobile Safari to even Internet Explorer 6! RAD PDF runs on the .NET Framework (3.5 / 4.x) as well as .NET Core, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, 10, and 11 using Blazor, Razor, MVC, WebForms, and more. Our nuget can be installed on Windows or Linux machines.
This update allows markup annotations like highlights and underlines to be applied to selected text. The Named Destinations embedded in a PDF can now be enumerated by the Server API (and applied to the viewer).
DefaultValue and CheckedByDefault properties added to Server API, allowing for a default value to be set for a text form field.
This release fixes a number of important bugs, including potential security vulnerabilities.
This update is available free of charge to customers with an active Maintenance Plan.

Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 9:00AM Today, Red Software publishes RAD PDF 4.4, its web-based GUI / WebControl for PDF viewing, PDF editing, PDF form filling, PDF redacting, PDF signing and more! RAD PDF works with virtually EVERY .NET Core or .NET Framework web application type including Angular, Blazor, Razor, React, MVC, WebForms, and more, making PDF-webapp integration easier than ever.
Primarily, this version eases setup with the RAD PDF System Service. By default, impersonation is now only used when making database calls to SQL Server, allowing for less overhead when rendering and using Lite Documents. (The Admin Tool can be used to always use impersonation for customers who wish to continue using the old behavior.)
Additionally, this release adds day of week formatting to date/text form fields, improves rendering, and exposes the CreationDate and ModifiedDate properties.
This update is available free of charge to all customers with an active Maintenance Plan

Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 9:00AM Red Software is proud to announce RAD PDF 4.3, the newest release of its ASP.NET WebControl, a drop-in component for PDF reading, PDF form filling, PDF editing, PDF redaction, PDF signing, PDF content protection, and more. Compatible with the .NET Framework 3.5+ and ready for ASP.NET 9, RAD PDF continues to have wider platform and browser support than any other web-based PDF editor.
Add Date Fields Using RAD PDFThis update includes support for "date" form fields and "image" form fields. Both extensions of the built in PDF form specification, these fields use JavaScript actions / formatting to allow date picking and image upload, respectively. RAD PDF can now create (via API or the GUI) and modify so-called "date" form fields, even applying custom date formats. Additionally, "image" form fields now can be added (via API or the GUI) and support uploading select image formats (BMP, GIF, JPG, and PNG).
This release fixes a number of bugs, primarily related to importing TIFF images.
This update is available free of charge to all customers with an active Maintenance Plan or Subscription.

Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 9:00AM Today, Red Software updates RAD PDF, a drop-in-ready ASP.NET (3.5 / 4.x / Core / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9) web component for editing, form filling, annotating, redacting, signing, and reading PDF files online. Version 4.1 includes a new Dark Theme for its graphical-user-interface (GUI). New object properties have also been added to the modal dialog, allowing desktop and mobile users alike to make even more adjustments to PDF files.
This release also improves form field rendering when zoomed out, makes right clicking more intuitive, and fixes a number of minor bugs.
Inline with Microsoft marking IFormatter and all of its related Serialization classes as obsolete, we have done the same and the PdfLiteSessionSerializer class has been marked Obsolete. We've added new DeserializeFromJson(string) and SerializeToJson() methods to PdfLiteSession, allowing for safer serialization.
