RAD PDF 4.7 Released
Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 9:00AM Today, Red Software updates RAD PDF, the ASP.NET (3.5 / 4.x / Core / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10) web component & GUI for PDF editing, PDF form filling, PDF redacting, PDF signing, and viewing PDF files in any web browser. Compatible with the .NET Framework 3.5+ and ready for ASP.NET 10, RAD PDF continues to have wider platform and browser support than any other web-based PDF editor!
This release updates the Admin Tool, making the configuration of caching strategies clearer. A new ConvertSignatureFieldsToShapes option allows signature fields to be automatically converted to native signature shapes, which allow the user to click in the GUI and sign via a popup (by typing, drawing, or uploading a signature).
The new OnDocumentPasswordAttempt() callback allows for password attempts in the RAD PDF GUI to be more easily tracked server side.
PDF JavaScript improvements include basic implementations of the "onblur" and "onfocus" field events, adding compatibility for some PDF forms which use these events.
Additionally, this version fixes a number of important bugs, particularly related to how PDF files using dictionaries are loaded into RAD PDF.
This update is available free of charge to all customers with an active Maintenance Plan or Subscription.
RAD PDF 4.1 Released
Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 9:00AM Today, Red Software updates RAD PDF, a drop-in-ready ASP.NET (3.5 / 4.x / Core / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9) web component for editing, form filling, annotating, redacting, signing, and reading PDF files online. Version 4.1 includes a new Dark Theme for its graphical-user-interface (GUI). New object properties have also been added to the modal dialog, allowing desktop and mobile users alike to make even more adjustments to PDF files.
This release also improves form field rendering when zoomed out, makes right clicking more intuitive, and fixes a number of minor bugs.
Inline with Microsoft marking IFormatter and all of its related Serialization classes as obsolete, we have done the same and the PdfLiteSessionSerializer class has been marked Obsolete. We've added new DeserializeFromJson(string) and SerializeToJson() methods to PdfLiteSession, allowing for safer serialization.

Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 9:00AM Red Software boasts the 4th major version of its ASP.NET PDF reader / PDF form filler / PDF editor / PDF signer / PDF annotator, RAD PDF! This update sets the default web control theme to a new, more modern theme.

RAD PDF 4.0's Modern ThemeDon't worry, even though RAD PDF 4.0 features a number of changes, our Classic interface can be easily displayed using the Theme="Classic" property. All other existing features are fully compatible with this new major version.
As always, we minimized the breaking changes (spoiler: there aren't any, besides the new default Theme), we improved security, and we adapted RAD PDF for the latest browser versions.
Newly added themes are color neutral; they seamlessly integrate the latest features with the new interface.
This version improves PDF repairing, allowing RAD PDF to open even damaged PDF files. New API properties allow the RAD PDF interface to be additionally customized, exposing advanced features like automatic path merging and more.
Of course, this release also includes a number of bug fixes and other minor improvements.
